Forcepoint recognized as a Visionary for 2nd year in a row, in the Gartner 2018 Magic Quadrant for NGFW

Gartner has named Forcepoint sole Visionary in their 2018 Magic Quadrant for NGFW, for ability to execute and completeness of vision.

According to Gartner, “In this mature market, vendors differentiate on feature strengths. Security and risk management leaders must consider the trade-offs between best-of-breed enterprise network firewall functions and risk tolerance.”*

Forcepoint believes this balance is best achieved by combining three areas:

  • Enterprise Connectivity – Direct-to-cloud application routing combined with site-to-site VPNs, made scalable and resilient with advanced, mixed-device clustering.
  • Network Security – Market-leading intrusion prevention that’s complemented by cloud-based Forcepoint Web Security and Cloud Application Security Broker (CASB).
  • Management at Scale – Real-world experience handling more than 1500 sites from a single pane of glass with zero-touch deployment and rapid incident response.

Today, I had the pleasure of making a couple important announcements at our executive-level INTERSECTION 2018 event in Washington D.C. First, going forward SecureAuth + Core Security will simply be known as SecureAuth. Second, I unveiled our bold new logo and a powerful new mission-driven tagline: Eliminating Identity-Related Breaches.

Some may wonder “Why did you choose SecureAuth for the company name?”

Much like how we operate from a product perspective, we strive to be market informed in all we do. When SecureAuth and Core Security merged one year ago, we made a decision to use the “plus sign” between the two names while we performed the appropriate due diligence needed to make the right, permanent name choice. In addition to the two original names, we also explored hundreds of other possible names, but none seemed to fit us authentically. In the end, we tested three finalists, and the market spoke loud and clear that SecureAuth was best aligned to tell our expanding story of continuous identity security. Decision made. SecureAuth.

From there, we wanted a logo that embodied our energy, momentum, and story. So, we started with color. Orange combines the energy of red and the cheerfulness of yellow. It is associated with joy, enthusiasm, fascination, creativity, determination, attraction, and success. In a sea of “reds” and “blues” used by many other vendors in cybersecurity, we wanted a color that would stand out as uniquely as our solutions.

As for the mark itself, it begins with a circle. The circle represents the continuous nature of the identity security solutions we offer. The two lines intersecting the circle representing three things: the intersection of identity and security, the intersection of two companies into one, and the intersection of access management and identity governance. The curved lines within the circle represent SecureAuth’s highly flexible and adaptive Identity Security Automation platform, which continuously assesses risk signals and enables identities to be trusted.

Lastly, our company mission statement was selected as our tagline: Eliminating Identity-Related Breaches. 81% of all breaches are attributable to a deficiency in identity security. SecureAuth’s capabilities provide the most rapid and profound way to reduce enterprise threat surfaces. We want to help our customers eradicate identity-related breaches altogether through increasingly intelligent and effective protective measures – without sacrificing user experience as businesses digitally transform.

While the naming/branding announcements are an important milestone for our company and demonstrate our momentum in the market, it’s important to put them in proper perspective. Of everything presented from at INTERSECTION today, our name and our logo were by far the least important. That’s because the event was dedicated to exploring the intelligent intersections of identity and security to build the present and future of continuous identity security.

In addition to having former Director of the CIA John Brennan speak on his observations of the importance of creating these intersections firsthand at the highest level of government, it was an event filled with the voices, experiences, and successes of leaders forging the future of cybersecurity by applying the tools of identity to improve security in new and innovative ways. In this context, we realize this isn’t about us – it’s about what we are able to do working with our customers and partners to ensure identity informs security – and in the process make companies, individuals, and governments everywhere safer.

Nonetheless, we are especially proud to now be one company, one mission, and one culture. And, it feels mighty darn good. -
